Rox Look To Hammel to Keep Streak Alive

The Rockies face the Mariners today looking for their 11th straight victory and 3rd straight sweep when the teams hook up this afternoon. Jason Hammel (3-3, 4.33 ERA) is hoping to win his 4th straight decision, but will have to do it at home where he has struggled this season going 0-2 with an ERA of 8.53. Jason Vargas (2-1, 2.35) hasn't had any success at Coors Field going o-1 in 2 starts with a whopping 19.06 ERA. Vargas is looking to bounce back from his first loss of the season where he gave up 3 runs in a 3-1 loss.
The Rockies have outscored opponents 66-27 during the current win streak and will trying to match an 11 game win streak they had back in 2007. Garrett Atkins will be starting today and has had success against Vargas in the past hitting 2 home runs off of him. This is by far the hottest team in baseball, Tracy has found a winning combination and has stuck with it. Let's just hope the Rockies stick with it all season and show the league this team is no longer a bottom feeder but a true contender. Baseball in Colorado is back and stronger than ever lets go Rockies and get the sweep tonight.
